Date Niiiiiight with...... pat malone

yes.. that would be me. and boy am i excited. not in the way that i find myself hilarious and charming but to actually have a lil' bit of me time. I think we spend so much of our lives running around trying to keeping up with our social calendars and work that we forget to take a night off and do the things WE love.

Its not that i dont love my man, i dooooo.. but when you do get your house to yourself for an entire night.. its a little bit exciting... i can play Adelle and sing along as LOUD as i want.. i can get the candles out and have a bath and read some trashtastic book and then make myself - oh who am i kidding - order myself some yummy food.. chuck on the pajayjays and watch all the sex and the city/revenge/real wives of wherever/jersey shore/geordie shore ohhhh the list goes on. and NO complaining, NO changing the chanel..

its going to be freaking amazing.

i just wanted to put it out there loud and proud and hope other people take the time and do the same thing, you will feel like a new. woman.

best night ever, coming up xxxx

boy band central

not one to go all single white female when boy bands come to town, as seems to be the reaction for most teenage girls in Australia as 'one direction' hits our shores..

they. are. everywhere. seriously.

i was on twitter last night and 'how's australia' was polling massively. i thought oooh this should be good, someone coming up with colloquial hilariously inappropriate things about australia, or you know, something stupid us aussies got up to but nooooo.... it was all the little crazy kids asking one direction how their flipping time in australia is going.. wowzers.

I'm not saying i dont get it, because i do.. I grew up in the hanson era, i actually remember a girl in grade 5 saying no to a boy's 'lets go out' proposal (which, in grade 5 only meant sitting next to each other in class, maybe a kiss on the cheek at lunch time) because she was.. wait for it... saving herself for Taylor. fact.

and this band is coming to australia soon, and my question is.. would it be weird for a bunch of 27 year olds to go and mmm bop along? I'm thinking it wouldnt be, because it would probably only attract the 27 year olds that loved them back in their prime..

It would be quite fun to go and relive our youth - crap i sound old -  or would it be slightly despressing?
Its like when you go back and watch your FAVOURITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME from when you were little and its either
A: boring as hell,
B: quite disturbing, eg the last unicorn.. that is CREEPY.) or
C: super annoying, eg the care bears.

So maybe, (for me personally) Hanson should just stay back in the memory bank of school and not be re-hashed.

Also just found out Flight of the Conchords are touring the same month, and well, its not a hard decision to where your cash should go, is it?

Booooooooooooots

the best part about winter - the boots! so many colours this season i am loving it sick.
having said that.. i'll probably stick to the ol' neeeeuuutral.. as i tend to do.

Is it too early for a countdown?

80 sleeps til Bali.. not that i'm excited or anything..

the last time I went to to Bali was mid-way through uni, and most people know what that means, you were blissfully unaware of exactly how much of a goon belly you had acquired. It was the days of cotton supre mini skirts matched with slogan tees or boob tubes..i know, it was as gorgeous as it sounds.

Bali was allll about the fake louis vuittons and ralph polos, and boy did i stock up. (just really completed the supre skirts and sparkly tops let me tell you)

but this time round... albeit slightly older, i'm excited about a whole new kettle of fish..

sunday ritual

melbourne has a tendancy to have certain 'it' places when it comes to brunching on the weekends. Places such as 'friends of mine' in burnley or 'three bags full' in abbotsford boast an amazing menu and delicious coffee, but you must earnt it. you can wait for a table from 5 minutes to 50 minutes. and if you're like me, and the need for brunching often comes about to cure friday or saturday's too many brewksies, you dont want to wait 30 seconds let alone 30 minutes. So let me introduce you to st kilda east's best kept secret:

Little Captain.

hands down, the BEST BLT + avocado, cheese, egg, mayo and chutney IN THE WORLD! Seriously, i could have one of those babies every day for the rest of my life. the coffee is yummy too, and if you're not quite up for a BLT they have gorgeous mini new york style bagels and plenty for the sweet tooth. It also becomes a mexican fiesta on thursday nights and an italian stallion on fridays. hows that for variety!

it has a gorgeous court yard for when the melbourne weather is kind, and a very eclectic decor inside with old books, photo frames and lamps creating a cosy oasis that you never want to leave

Just Be..

http://www.justbemagazine.com/

a new-ish little aussie mag that i am just loving. lots of interesting articles with gorgeous imagery about predominantly fashion, beauty and fragrance, but also has a bit of lifestyle with travel & homewares etc. Its got a fab Top 10 section of different things to experience, eat, collect, learn, etc. its a seasonal mag, so its a little while to wait between reads, but definitely worth it :)

holy heck its twenty twelve....

excuse me whilst i dust off the ol' blogging keyboard... seems like forever since i banged out a few paras about ummm.. stuff...

well happy new year everyone! jesus.. 2012.. I remember thinking to myself when i was younger i am going to be 14 in the year 2000 and that was so freaking old. I wonder what myself would have thought about being 26? ancient? probably. have kids and a picket fence by now? ahhhh how times have changed. (thank god)

althought the younger version of myself would have painted 2012 to be picking out curtain fabrics and all that grown up stuff, i'm pretty happy with my current new year resolutions.

1) stop spending so much money on bloody dinners. there is nothing wrong with catching up with the gals at home and just chilling on the couch (this excludes fridays and saturdays of course)
2) get fit - why? because my boyfriend bought me runners for christmas, and may be subtly (or not so subtly) trying to tell me something
3) stop impulse buying. if its friday night and you have "nothing" to wear, do not go and buy something for that night and that night only. your wardrobe becomes chocker-block full of items that all together could have bought you something splendid that you would have had forever and ever amen.
4) stop saying yes to everything. if you dont, you are only making yourself poor and exhausted. Make time for yourself, and dont feel guilty about doing sweet eff all if thats what you feel like

well, thats a start anyway! what are your NY resolutions?

love v xxx
